Some Wrestling History
Charles Lee (Chuck) Barfoot started wrestling in the 7th grade in 1964. He was a varsity starter all four years Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, N.J. He wrestled 98 lbs in his freshman year, 98-106 lbs his soph/junior years, and 106 lbs as a senior. He was co-captain his freshman year and captain his next three years.
A very successful competitor, Chuck had 54 wins through high school with his only loss and tie occurring his freshman year. He was offered 47 scholarships and had the most team points for any wrestler in 4 years of varsity at his school, 46 pins out of 54 wins. His 3 fastest pins were 9sec, 11sec, and 14 sec.
Chuck was inducted into the Southern Regional High School Hall of Fame in 1994
