Alex grew up playing in the ocean along the Delaware and Maryland seashore. He started surfing when he was 16 and since then has traveled the world chasing waves.
With an affinity for large surf, Alex can often be found on the North Shore of Oahu surfing such breaks as Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and numerous outer reefs during the big wave winter season.
Competitively, Alex has won the Men’s Longboard Division of the Maryland State Surfing Championships three times and has competed at the Eastern Surfing Association Mid-Atlantic Regionals.
In addition to surfing, Alex has been an ocean lifeguard for many years, performing countless rescues in hazardous surf. Alex is also a member of the Surfrider Foundation as well as the Ocean City Surf Club.
