David Falkenau
Wrestling Background

David Falkenau has been active in the wrestling community for many years, both as a coach and as a competitor. Beginning in 1983, he attended Beiger Middle School wrestling camps in Mishawaka, IN, (under coach Rich Roggeman) before competing on his middle school team for two seasons (1986/87 and 87/88). In high school, he competed as an Indiana I.H.S.A.A. Wrestler (Mishawaka High School, under coach Al Smith) winning the Bi-County championships in 1987 and 1988. Following high school, he competed in the Ball State University wrestling program from 1992 until 1994. After college he volunteered with both his junior high school and his high school teams until moving to California in 2002.

In 2002, Dave became the coach of the Warrior Wrestling Club at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California, where he still coaches at this time. Last season (2005-06), his team, The Army and Navy Academy Warriors won 1st place in their league. Dave went on to coach Steven Briggs (160lbs, 24-5) and Corey Thorell (145lbs, 15-6) though the Masters Tournament of the California State CIF Championships.
