Clay Feeter was a varsity wrestlers at Leland High School in San Jose, California, from 1971- 74. He and his brother were league champions during that time in the Santa Theresa athletic league of the South San Francisco bay area, and Clay won the prestigious Monte Vista High School Tournament at 106 lbs.
